"World Ablaze" is a mod aimed at a complete overhaul of the base game to make it more challenging, historically accurate, and immersive. Currently, the mod includes significant expansions to technology trees, major AI improvements, expanded focus trees, and numerous minor changes to enhance gameplay. Each nation has its own unique technology tree, adding a distinctive flair to the game. The mod strictly follows historical chronology and statistics, although some changes have been made to ensure balance. Due to the extensive changes in the game, it can go up to 1948, so some post-war technologies, even those that appeared after 1948, are included to account for the arms race occurring in wartime conditions.
